In the future, we're going to be able to call in our own installations.
If done right, this could spell a new era for the game not only for public matches, but also for PC.
So let's take the time out of our busy CCP bashing schedule and discuss what we would like to see from installations.
My personal preference, aside from the idea that they should require a certain amount of WP to call in within the disputed areas, but be "WPfree" in "redzone" areas, is that for PC - the defending team be allowed to pre-place Installations on the battlefield - especially if attack/defend is done in the old school skirmish style.
Also, as for new installation types I like to see, I think a "nano-garage" and a "Nano-hanger" would be at the top of my list. They could function like a vending machine that you fill with stuff you buy, and sell to anyone on the battlefield according to prices you set. A public one filled with crap fits should be in every pub match, and we should do away with the starter fit LAVs altogether, forcing players to go buy one from a pub vendor that eventually runs out of stuff. Quafe sponsored, of course.
As an aside, I think the RDV delivery system is sort of goofy, but it has its place. I think you should have to buy your own RDVs, #1, so no RDV no LAV or tank, son. -#2 the installations would free up the RDV system.
Anyhoo, discuss... |

That was MY idea that I just posted in another thread like a half hour ago. You just up and stole my idea. I hate you so much right now.
Oh, sorry, I didn't know you had trademarked your flippant thread responses. Maybe you should just keep all of your ideas to yourself, then.
I'm sure this is how stuff gets done. You share an idea, and it catches on. People make stuff happen. Anyway, don't derail this thread with your nonsense.

If you are really that upset about me taking your idea, to the point where you are sending me in game mail, then maybe instead of derailing other people's threads you should try making one of your own once and awhile. |

Now, not only are you an idea thief, you're also a liar. I sent you no such in game mail. Get over yourself.
Seriously? I can cap the screen for you if you like...

they all have switchable modules on top for easy customization.
so it was likely intended that the users buy the base installation like you would a vehicle, add modules and the likes, and then call them in, the same way.
honestly I'd like to still see that system one day, anyway calling in supply depo's at the very least should be implemented soon, it would help dealing with vehicles if we had easier access to supply depo's, and didn't need to do cross country treks to find out they blew up the only supply depo.
Installations could very well help balance out the ground game, or add a new level of depth
I quite like the idea of having the installations that supply things pay out ISK to the owner.
But I would like to see some other ideas from everyone else. I think if they alf-hass the implementation it could really be the final nail. Adding a few new installations with fun dimensions to them, other than the samey "Grind SP, fit mods, stomp pubs" formula could add a whole new layer of game.
Like, how about an installation that charges ISK to launch you to a targeted location like a human cannonball . |
